Bonfire and Fireworks Display

Saturday February 18th, 2012
Bonfire at Beachwave Park at 7:00 pm
Fireworks from the Boatlaunch at 9:00 pm

People are all over - they watch from their ATV’s and Snowmobiles, they watch from widows and balconies, they are on their snow covered lawns with fires burning, they are parked on the ice, cheering in the cool evening air. The crowd is as exciting as the great display of fireworks. It is always a heavy discussion on taking donated money from business, volunteer groups, and private individuals to put on this display but after you experience the atmosphere it just completes the Saturday activities. Come out Saturday night February 18th at 9:00 p.m. and be part of the experience. Thanks to everyone that has contributed to make this event possible.

Snow Sculpturing Competition

Judging on Sunday February 19th, 2012
Off The Beach Foods Parking Lot

For the 4th year in a row; we actually have a large enough area where all the snow sculptures can be made and seen, in one convenient spot!. Off the Beach Foods parking lot is the perfect area! Blocks of snow 4ft wide, 4ft high, and 8ft long will be made. There are a few basic rules. No color, just snow is allowed. Very minimal accessories are allowed. (If you make a snowman, you may use rocks for the eyes.) That’s just an example, but you get the picture. JUST SNOW is your best bet. Judging will take place Sunday after lunch. Plaques are awarded for first, second and third place. Local senior members of the community are asked to judge the sculptures.

To register you can call Chere at BeachComber (780) 924-3242

Over the Line Snow Ball Tournament

Monday, February 20st, 2012
10:00am to 4:00pm at the Ball Diamonds at Beachwave Park

Over the Line Ball is back and part of Sno-Mo Days. It consists of teams of four players playing five innings a game. Total games to be played is determined at the onset of the tournament. The object of the game is to hit the ball within a designated area, with the hopes of the opposing team missing the ball. Three hits make one run after which every hit will be considered a run. A home run clears the bases and three hits are required before a run scores after the home run. Every inning starts with no hits carried over. The game winner is determined by the total number of runs earned after the completion of the five innings. After the tournament prize money and prizes are awarded accordingly at the Jungles Bar and Grill along with chilli and a bun.
